20th Year of

THE MIGHTY ABA SHANTI-I

Well people, it has been 20 years since the sound called 'The Mighty Aba Shanti-I' first turned up unannounced at 'Leicester Carnival 1990', with a mobile generator and a great deal of assistance from some local bredrins, set up outside the cafe and started playing.
Strictly banduloo business, yuh no see it.
Aba played throughout the day and a large crowd gathered to see what all the commotion was about.
They came, saw, liked what they heard and kotched for the duration.
When the sun went down, people went and got their cars and made an arena lit by their car headlights, just to keep the vibes rolling.Aba stopped at two o' clock in the morning, not because he was tired, but because the generator had run out of diesel!

Here began the affinity and love between the people of Leicester and Aba Shanti-I. Not so much the carnival organisers, but you can't please everyone.

We play Jah's music for all of Jah's people. We are truly by public demand,'The People's Sound' and long may the people demand that we play and play we shall!
Neither wind, rain, hail, snow, expanse of land nor traversing water shall stop us from bringing Jah's music to all those that want it and need it! Their musical hunger must and shall be fed!

'THE MIGHTY ABA SHANTI-I'. SOUNDS OF JAH LIGHTNING & THUNDER.

'HAVE VIBES ,WILL TRAVEL'.

SO WE STAY!

On the following pages will be the images of our 20th anniversary at Leicester Carnival as well as the report of the day and night.

You know who you are.

For without you initially taking Aba Shanti-I and the music produced by Falasha recordings into your hearts and souls, life could have been a whole lot different for all those mentioned above.Jah Know!!!!!!!

To commemorate this event we stuck a limited, and I mean limited, run of 200 metal stickers / medals. 10 for every year we have been in existence. These are 95mm round (3 & 3/4 inches for those who like the old imperial measurement) and have an embossed design. They have a very strong self adhesive backing and will stick to anything.

So buy a unique metalised limited edition commerative sticker. Once these 200 have gone we will produce NO MORE!!!!! Why I hear you ask? Well they cost so much to manufacture, what with the tooling, jigs, the limited run and then the shipping, (because they are made by a company far,far away), that we lose money on every one we sell. But we felt that we had to do something special for our 20th year, so here it is.

See below:

These are not some fool, fool something. These are the real deal and the pictures does not do them justice.
These are £10 inc of p&p
We have also got some commemorative horns with small waxed paper sticker on them which have the same design and are priced at £3. Just what you need for Notting Hill Carnival or our anniversary night on the 26th September 2010 at Dingwalls in London.
There is also a commemorative T-shirt that will be available from the Notting Hill Carnival weekend and in the words of Blood Shanti, "Dem wicked".
